Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has become the country’s first, and amongst the top five carriers in Asia, to add over 50,000 fans on Facebook, one of the world’s largest social networking websites.
Launched on January 19, 2010, the Jet Airways Facebook community, at www.facebook.com/jetairways, provides guests with real-time news updates about flight schedules, new customer programs, route additions, services and special offers etc., besides providing guests with an online forum to discuss their experiences.
According to Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, CEO, Jet Airways, “Social media networks, such as Facebook, have emerged as a powerful means for organizations to communicate effectively with their guests, while collecting valuable consumer feedback on various experiences, thus ensuring a higher quality of product and service delivery. Having emerged as the first carrier in India to add over 50,000 fans on Facebook, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests who have helped us reach this unique milestone in such a relatively short period of time.”
In addition to Facebook, as part of its social media initiative, Jet Airways has also created an online community on Twitter at www.twitter.com/jetairways, in a bid to actively engage and interact with its major stakeholders and significantly enhance the overall Jet Airways experience.
