Air India single code

27th February 2011 will be a great day in the history of aviation industry in India; when Flight
and IATA ticket codes of Air India (098) and erstwhile Indian Airlines (058) will be merged together
and all Air India Domestic and International flights will operate as a single airlines with AI ( 098 ) ticket
code.

Air India has made elaborate arrangements to inform the passengers about their revised flight numbers
through SMS messages , telephone calls to individuals and through travel agents. At the airports all the
Flight Information Display boards will show both Old and new Flight numbers and floor walkers will take
care of passengers requiring any assistance.

Now from 27th February most popular Delhi Mumbai flight IC 165 will be AI 665 at 0800hrs and IC167
will be AI 659 at 0900hrs.Delhi – Tiriputi flight IC 952 will be AI 542 at 0950hrs IC7803 to Ludhiana
will be AI 9803 at 1230hrs.Incoming flight to Delhi from Hyderabad IC939 will be AI559 at 0835hrs
and 168 from Mumbai to Delhi will be AI660 at 1900hrs.

The passengers have also been advised to contact toll free number 18001801407 to check
their revised flight number.

A list of changed flight numbers is given below. All other flight will only have the “IC” code changed
to “AI”code with no change in flight number.

Air India has selected SITA world renowned system agency to provide Passenger Service System
which would be at par with industry standards and will conform to the requirements of
an Airlines alliance, said Air India Spokesperson. In addition to the core PSS Module, the vendor will also
provide various modules like the Revenue Management System, Revenue Accounting system,
IOCC  and HUB Control, Internet Booking Engine and Loyalty Plus etc.

According to Industry sources, SITA is a proven hosted PSS solution with 104 customers and Malaysia
Airlines- an airlines similar to the size and operation of Air India which recently migrated to the SITA PSS
has attributed its turn around to the new PSS.

This amalgamation will be a major step in Air India becoming an active partner of STAR alliance which
has the most respected member airlines  from Lufthansa , Continental Airlines , Austrian Airlines ,
Swiss Air , Singapore Airlines , Air China , Air Canada , Air New Zealand , South Africa Airways etc
having 21,000 daily departures at 1160 airports in 181 countries.
